Position Title
Manager - Trainer
Purpose of Role
To build and run TEPCO's site training capability — developing and executing the training modules for mechanized, assembly-line transmission construction with core purpose of optimizing man days in all the phases of construction, and, most importantly, driving their adoption on the ground so that gangs work to the new method with confidence, consistency and pace.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
Training design & Content development
- Conduct change management workshops with Projects, Gang Leaders & all workers.
- Develop and maintain training modules for the assembly-line methodology and mechanized construction techniques (e.g. DAGP erection, drone-based stringing), covering each sub-gang role across foundation, erection and stringing.

- Translate technical procedures into practical site level instructions suitable for workforce with varying literacy and experience levels.
Adoption on site — the core of the role
- Run structured on-site induction and hands-on training at mobilization , and refresher training at the start of each project.
- Work alongside gangs at the work-front to embed the assembly-line method, coach on cycle-time discipline, and troubleshoot resistance or bottlenecks as they arise.
- Partner with the Project Manager, Mechanization leads and vertical teams to sequence training with the execution plan, so training enables the schedule rather than interrupting it.
- Identify and develop experienced workers as peer trainers, creating a self-sustaining training capability at site.
- Identify high potential workers and prepare succession plans for critical gang and equipment operator positions.
- Enhancing schedule adherence through the effective adoption of mechanized construction methodologies.
Measurement and improvement
- Track training coverage, competency levels, and the link between training and on-ground productivity (progress toward the man-days/km target).
- Create a competency grading system (Beginner, skilled , advanced, export) to support workforce planning.
- Feed field observations back into module design, continuously improving both the method and the training.
- Establish the foundations of a repeatable, scalable training programme that can be rolled out to future TEPCO sites and, in time, a team.
- Create a train the trainer program to build scalable internal capabilities across all our projects.
- Monitor cycle times and identify operational inefficiencies impacting productivity.
- Conduct RCA of productivity analysis attributable to manpower skill gaps and implement corrective action/developmental plans
Safety plus Quality Training & Compliance
- Ensuring all compliance w.r.t. QHSE pre-requisites viz. required TPI of all machines, running essential checks on SOP requirements, Training w.r.t. safety aspects.
- Ensure all workers are trained and certified for critical construction activities before deployment.
- Conduct regular safety awareness sessions and practical demonstrations.
- Track effectiveness of safety training through reduction in unsafe acts, near misses, and incidents.
- Develop quality-focused skill assessments and certification standards for critical activities.
