Chief Manager - Design & Engineering (BOP) - Wind & Solar
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Balance of Plant (BOP) Design Engineer specializing in solar and wind energy projects. This role will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and overseeing the electrical infrastructure required for solar and wind power generation facilities, including energy storage integration, high and medium voltage systems, substation design, and grid interconnections
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
Electrical System Design:
- Develop electrical designs for solar and wind BOP, including substations (33/66 kVs), transformers, switchgear, control panels, and cabling.
- Design medium and high voltage systems for power evacuation and grid interconnection.
- Knowledge/Create single-line diagrams (SLDs), cable schedules, and layout drawings for electrical components.
- Equipment Specification & Selection:
- Define technical specifications for critical equipment like transformers, inverters, switchgear, relays, and control systems.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to select OEMs and vendors for BOP components.
Standards and Compliance:
- Ensure designs comply with national and international standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE) and local grid codes.
- Conduct risk assessments, ensuring designs prioritize safety, reliability, and environmental compliance.
Project Management Support:
- Work closely with project management teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of projects.
- Support site teams during construction, installation, and commissioning phases with technical troubleshooting and quality checks.
Stakeholder Coordination:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including civil, mechanical, SCADA, and other dept. engineers and financial team.
- EPC /OE team members.

In the medium-term, Serentica aims to install 5000MW of carbon-free generation capacity coupled with different storage technologies. Eventually, it aims to supply over 15 billion units of clean energy annually and displace 20 million tonnes of CO2 emissions.
