Position Title
Manager- Projects Monitoring (Transmission Industry)
Position Summary
This role includes both “Capital and Expense projects” of “Transmission Grid” which entails Construction of transmission lines, sub-stations, and execution of Smart Grid solutions
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
Cross-Functional Collaboration to Align Functional/Project Plans with Overall AOP
- Strategic Alignment: Collaborate with various departments to ensure that project plans are in sync with the organization's strategic objectives and AOP. This involves regular coordination with teams such as engineering, procurement, and operations to align on goals and deliverables.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners. Communicate project progress, risks, and changes effectively to ensure alignment and buy-in.
Monitor Portfolio/Project Progress (Time, Cost, Quality, Risk)
- Performance Tracking: Monitor project performance against established metrics, providing regular updates and reports to senior management. Analyze key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify potential project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies to ensure timely project delivery while minimizing disruptions.
- Comprehensive Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and dashboards that highlight project status, risks, and performance against the AOP. Ensure these reports are tailored to the needs of different stakeholders, including the CEO, MD, and Chairman.
Prepare MIS/Presentations for CEO/MD/Chairman Review
- Executive Reporting: Develop and present Management Information System (MIS) reports that provide insights into project performance, financials, and alignment with strategic goals.
- Presentation Skills: Craft clear and concise presentations that effectively communicate complex information to senior leadership, facilitating informed decision-making.
Identify Operational Risks, Ensure Compliance, and Manage Crises
- Crisis Management: Develop and implement crisis management plans to address unexpected events that could disrupt operations. This includes establishing clear roles, responsibilities, and communication channels for the crisis management team and other stakeholders.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all projects comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. This involves staying updated on regulatory changes and integrating compliance requirements into project plans.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential threats to project success. Develop and implement mitigation strategies to address these risks proactively.
Identify Process Inefficiencies and Drive Process Improvement
- Process Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of workflows to identify inefficiencies and recommend actionable improvements.
- Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging teams to regularly review and refine processes. Implement best practices and lessons learned to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Innovation: Encourage innovation by exploring new technologies and methodologies that can streamline operations and reduce costs.
Critical Success Factors - Essential
- 10-15 years of experience (Exp. in project management / controls)
- Have sound knowledge of project management & Large-scale transmission project execution Experience.
- BE / B. Tech (Electrical Engineering)
