Position Title
Manager SCM
Position Summary
Responsible for overseeing and managing the procurement of this role will be responsible for ensuring Store, Scrap & Steel procurement with a key focus on cost and deliverables and meeting the required timelines and in line with SOP and Procedures.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
Inventory & Store Management
- Oversee store operations to maintain optimal inventory levels, avoiding stockouts and excess stock.
- Implement efficient stock control and inventory management systems ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
- Conduct periodic audits and cycle counts to maintain inventory integrity.
Supplier & Vendor Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors, ensuring high performance and compliance with contract terms.
- Evaluate supplier performance regularly through KPIs like delivery time, quality, and cost competitiveness.
- Address supplier issues and resolve discrepancies proactively.
Scrap Management
- Manage the disposal and recycling of scrap materials in an environmentally responsible and cost-effective manner.
- Coordinate with internal teams for scrap segregation, valuation, and sale.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to scrap handling and disposal.
Cross-functional Coordination
- Collaborate with production, finance, and quality teams to align procurement and inventory activities with organizational goals.
- Support demand forecasting and production planning to meet material requirements.
Cost Control & Reporting.
- Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, inventory status, supplier performance, and cost analysis for management review.
Sustainability & Innovation: Explore opportunities for using sustainable materials and innovative sourcing methods to contribute to the company’s sustainability goals.
Critical Success Factors - Essential
- Adept at sourcing raw materials and Steel procurement
- Focus on vendor coordination and new supplier hunting and onboarding
- Adept at using different payment terms & knowledge of various incoterms
- Daily coordination with planning to ensure proper inventory management
- Familiarity with contract management and legal compliance
- High ethical standards and integrity in procurement
Qualification:
- Professional with over 12 + years of in Inventory Management, specifically with conductor, cables or Metal industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field. (MBA preferred)
