Position Title
Associate - Scrap
Position Summary
To manage and control scrap generation, segregation, storage, valuation, and disposal in the cable manufacturing plant, ensuring maximum value recovery, compliance with statutory requirements, transparency, and alignment with company policies
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- Scrap Identification & Segregation
- Identify, classify, and segregate various types of scrap generated during cable manufacturing such as copper, aluminium, steel, PVC/XLPE compounds, packing scrap, and general waste.
- Ensure proper tagging, storage, and traceability of scrap at designated locations.
- Scrap Accounting & Reconciliation
- Maintain accurate records of scrap generation, movement, and disposal.
- Reconcile scrap quantities with production consumption and process losses.
- Coordinate with production, stores, and finance for periodic scrap reconciliation.
- Scrap Disposal & Sales
- Support scrap auction / tender / disposal processes as per company policy.
- Coordinate with approved scrap buyers for lifting of scrap material.
- Ensure timely disposal to avoid accumulation and safety risks.
- Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure adherence to statutory, environmental, safety, and ESG norms related to scrap handling and disposal.
- Maintain proper documentation such as scrap sale invoices, weighbridge slips, gate passes, and compliance records.
